Shipping & returns
Short version: yarn goods are easy, live plants have rules, and I would rather sort a problem out than argue about it.
Shipping
Orders are packed and posted early in the week so nothing sits in a depot over a weekend. Yarn goods usually go out within two working days. Made-to-order pieces take one to three weeks, and the listing will say so.
Shipping is calculated at checkout by Square, based on where the order is going.
Live plants and where they can go
Everything in the collection ships without soil. That is not a packing preference, it is what lets a plant leave Alabama at all: the state sits inside the federal imported fire ant quarantine, and the quarantine is about soil rather than plants.
How cuttings travel
Cuttings go out either unrooted, or rooted in water with their roots rinsed clean. Nothing leaves here in potting mix, and nothing is packed in moss, perlite or coir. Roots are wrapped damp for the journey and go in the post at the start of the week so nothing sits in a depot over a weekend.
A water-rooted cutting settles into your own mix or back into water within a week or so. Unrooted cuttings usually root in water in a couple of weeks.
Where they can go
Anywhere in the contiguous states, with three caveats. I do not ship live plants to Hawaii or Puerto Rico, which require an import permit and inspection. California, Arizona and Florida run their own agricultural inspection rules on incoming plants, so message me before ordering if you are there and I will tell you where it stands.
If something in your basket cannot legally travel to your address, I will refund that line and send the rest rather than quietly cancelling the order.
Anything in soil
Potted plants are local pickup and Alabama only. If you see one you want and you are out of state, ask me, because I can nearly always take a cutting from the same plant instead.
Returns
Yarn goods can come back within fourteen days if they are unused and in the state they arrived in. Message me first and I will tell you where to send it. Return postage is yours unless the piece was wrong or faulty, in which case it is mine.
Custom and made-to-order pieces cannot be returned, because they were made for one window and one pot. I would rather get the measurements right at the start than have you stuck with something.
If a plant arrives unhappy
Cuttings sometimes look miserable after a few days in a box and perk up within a week. If yours does not, send me a photo within three days of it arriving and I will replace it or refund it.
Live plants are not returnable for any other reason, which is the normal arrangement for anything living.
